Read Photography & Videography Policies BEFORE completing this form:
These policies are for all photographers at events organized by the ISSDC that are planning to take photos for profit at any ISSDC event.
Process:
- Individuals who are interested in being the Official Event Photographer(s) must complete the Photography Request Form on the ISSDC website. Additionally, any other individuals who would like to take photos for profit must complete the Photography Request Form on the ISSDC website. Photography Request Form above;
- Event organizers will review the request and approve their selection. If event organizers are unable to decide, the Board of Directors will make the final decision.
- All individuals, regardless if selected or not, will be notified of the event organizers’ decision via email.
- Selected photographer(s) will need to sign a Photography Contract which outlines terms, expectations, and agreement to all Photography Policies.
- The selected Official Event Photographer(s) will be advertised on the Event Announcement and be allowed personal advertisement on ISSDC pages.
Official Event Photographer(s). These are photographers secured and approved by the event organizers to take the following images on behalf of the ISSDC.
- Show Photos. Show photos may or may not include judges; they are photos celebrating the win of the dog and/or owners, breeders, handlers.
- All photos will be marked with event title, dates, and placement;
- All attempts will be made to have photos ready for delivery within 10 day of events, unless other arrangements have been made;
- Fee Schedule must be disclosed at the time of request and cannot be changed after event organizers approve request.
- Ringside. Ringside photos showcase competitors within the show ring.
- Purposeful photography will be used; No “photo-dump” of all photos shot will be allowed;
- All photos will receive at least minimal post-production adjustments, that include, but are not limited to, lighting, cropping and sharpening, if needed;
- Every attempt will be made to capture all competitors at least once; no favoritism shown; no obvious exclusion;
- All photos shot landscape (sideways) mode to enable better range for cropping and viewing;
- All attempts will be made to have photos ready for viewing within 10 days of event, unless other arrangements have been made;
- Fee Schedule must be disclosed at the time of request and cannot be changed after event organizers approve request.
- Portraits. These are private sessions. The show photographer and/or ringside photographer have first right of refusal on this service. If the Official Event Photographer(s) wish to offer this service:
- They are the only photographer(s) allowed to advertise portraits service at the event;
- Fee Schedule must be disclosed at the time of request and cannot be changed after event organizers approve request;
- The Official Event Photographer(s) may be a single photographer, and/or a photography team. Event organizers will work closely with the Event Photographer(s) to manage expectations and mitigate any issues that may arise.
- The Official Event Photographer(s) is/are an independent contractor(s), no fees or expenses are paid by, or to, the ISSDC.
Additional Photographers. These are any photographer(s) who plan on attending the event with the intent to take photos for profit during the event. Additional photographers will be approved on a case by case basis by the event organizers.
- Prior approval from event organizers must be obtained no less than two (2) weeks prior to the event.
- The type of photography must be declared at the time of the request;
- Ringside photos of the competition;
- Casual photos highlighting the event;
- Portraits;
- Show Photos. This option is NOT available.
- Fee Schedule must be disclosed at the time of request and cannot be changed after event organizers approve request;
- In the event that there are multiple Photographer(s) at the Event, Additional Photographer(s) cannot undercut the pricing of the Event Photographer(s);
- Free downloads are the only exception. Cannot solicit for tips or donations as this is considered for profit.
- Expectations of style:
- Purposeful photography will be used; No “photo-dump” of all photos shot will be allowed;
- All photos will received at least minimal post-production adjustments, that include, but are not limited to, lighting, cropping and sharpening, if needed.
- Must coordinate and work with the Event Photographer(s) to mitigate any points of conflict.
Videographers. These are any videographers who plan on attending the event with the intent to take videos for profit during the event. Videographers will follow the same policies as photographers and require approval by the Event Organizers.
Violations. Failure to adhere to these photography policies may result in the following actions including, but not limited to:
- Banned from future events as a photographer for a period of one (1) year;
- Banned as a competitor (including violator’s dog and/or handler(s) ) and spectator from future ISSDC-sponsored events and shows;
- All points earned at the event where the violation occurred of dogs owned and/or co-owned by the photographer will be removed and declared null and void;
- If the photographer is a current ISSDC Club Member, further disciplinary action may be taken by the Board of Directors (BOD).
