Barnhunt is a fun team game where you and your dog learn to sniff out rats in PVC tubing hidden in straw. Dogs will climb, go through a short tunnel, as well as learn to use their nose! A lot of Shiloh’s are natural barnhunters, so don’t miss your opportunity for them to try their paw at a new sport!

STUD SHOWCASE

The ISSDC, in partnership with the Shiloh Shepherd Resource Center’s Stud Gallery, presents the First Annual Stud Showcase.

Participation of Studs will be either as Showcase Ring attendees or Virtual participants. All will be featured in the accompanying Stud Showcase Book [pdf] and in the Library’s Stud Gallery. Stud bios include their health statistics, availability, breeding contacts, owner testimony, and three-generation pedigree. Link to an exclusive event Stud Gallery for participants is located [HERE]; Gallery will be populated as dogs are registered for this event. There is no charge for studs to be listed at the Shiloh Shepherd Resource Center’s Stud Gallery.

  • The Stud Showcase book will then be posted to the Breeder’s section of the ISSDC Member’s Forum after the event.
  • In-person attendees will receive a QR Code to be posted at their tent to be displayed during the event weekend, where people attending can scan the QR code and be sent to the page of your dog specifically for more information.
  • Participating studs will also be listed in the IEW Show Packets.
  • The Showcase Ring will allow event attendees to meet the Stud and talk with the owner/breeder. This event will be held immediately following Show 2 on Saturday, at approximately 4:00 pm. At this time, registered dogs will be announced and bios read as the dogs will be sent around the ring and their breeders introduced, if attending. Dogs should remain available after their ring time for interested parties to ask questions.

We hope this event will spotlight the amazing studs available, allow breeders to see their movement, go over them, and be able to ask questions to their breeders and owners. Anyone interested in getting another Shiloh should find this beneficial in finding a program that might fit their goals, and open up discussions with mentors and future homes!

  • $20.00 for Studs attending the in person event, not entered in all shows
  • $10.00 for Studs attending and also entered in ALL 4 SHOWS
  • $10.00 for Studs not attending the event
  • ALL ENTRIES include virtual/print materials

SEMINAR/SPEAKER
  • “Preserving Type & Genetic Diversity in a Rare Breed”
  • Patricia Princehouse will be presenting at 6pm or following the Stud Showcase. She is preparing a seminar and open table discussion which will cover her experiences in a rare breed, the Pyrenean Shepherd. Pyrenean Shepherds are a small, French herding breed that focus on movement. Princehouse is a force in the Pyrenean world, having started the breed in the US. She has great experience in maintaining type while also focusing on diversity with the genetics of a rare breed.
