The 2024 IEW Results!
Happy 20th Anniversary to the ISSDC!
Another successful IEW in the books. THANK YOU ALL for the amazing participation over the weekend (May 17th-19th). What a group of outstanding Shilohs!
A little rain didn’t stop us on Saturday. It was fantastic to see the turnout. We had 71 Shilohs registered (including day-of) and many visiting dogs (both Shilohs and non-Shilohs). Total attendance list will be posted, as will CGC and Temperament Testing results.
At the risk of leaving someone out, I want to take a moment to thank several key people. It takes a whole team behind-the-scenes to make a show move smoothly.
- Rhonda VanEmon – co-chair and Merchandise, Raffle and Auction extraordinaire
- Raffle and Auction donors
- Ribbon and Trophy Patrons
- Tiffany Weishorn – staffing the table and keeping track of everything, especially stepping in at the last moment. Lest we forget the behind-the-scenes prep work with the show book.
- Trish Beltz and Stephanie Houck – the amazing ring Stewarts that kept everything running smoothly, even with constant interruptions
- Christi Yonavick – for obtaining the judges and donating a basket
- Our judges – Deirdre Petrie, Gay Kuehnel-Hisatake, Tina Leininger and Richard Reynolds
- Jacki Wilde – our Board/Club designated show photographer. Thanks for making the trek east to support our IEW.
- Carrie Plantamura and John Rittenhouse – I couldn’t have done it without your non-stop help with the ISSDC and GV/NS Trophies and Ribbons …. whatever else was needed!. Let’s not forget, you were my special lunch runners.
- Dr Cindy Otto (Director, UPenn Vet Working Dog Center) – shared with us information about the Center and some amazing stories about their dogs, including 911 experience (e.g.,longevity and cancer). In addition, we discussed the Hermangio Sarcoma study that our Shilohs are now part of. There were nine blood samples taken on-site. For more information about donations and providing blood for the study, please see: https://www.donate-hsapvwdc.com/
- All our participants – you make the show happen! Thank you to those that completed the surveys.
