I was first introduced to the Shiloh Shepherd in 2019 through social media, not yet realizing the impact the breed would have on my life. Three years later, while searching for a second dog, the suggestion of a Shiloh piqued my interest. Although we were initially set on a German Shepherd, it quickly became clear that a Shiloh Shepherd would be the perfect addition to our family. In early 2023, we welcomed Porter after nearly a year of anticipation—and in a wonderful twist of fate, the Shiloh who first caught my eye on social media back in 2019 is actually Porter’s father!
Since bringing Porter home, I’ve fully immersed myself in the world of Shilohs. Together, we’ve stepped into the conformation ring and earned multiple group placements, several Best of Breed wins, and even a Best in Show. We’ve traveled across the country to attend Shiloh events, and along the way, I’ve met many incredible friends and mentors who have supported and inspired us.
My passion for the breed and my desire to contribute to its future ultimately led me to join the ISSDC Board of Directors. I see tremendous potential for the Shiloh Shepherd, and I am committed to helping preserve the breed and ensuring a bright future for Shilohs for generations to come.
