Rescue & Rehome

Your Donations Are Welcome!

For the sake of our breed, and out of the goodness of your heart, we hope that our people directly involved in rescuing and caring for less fortunate Shiloh Shepherds will be compensated for their base expenses. From time to time, we also do targeted donations, click on the button below to learn more. In addition, we have Memorial Donations to honor a loved one. A thoughtful way to remember a person or animal who touched your heart.

Rescue & Rehome Program

Thank you for your interest in the International Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club – Rescue and Rehome (ISSDC). The ISSDC believes all dogs deserve a loving home, but our rescue/rehome efforts must be devoted to helping proven Shiloh Shepherds in need. We rely on our network of breeders, members and volunteers to help rescue, foster and rehome Shiloh Shepherds. The ISSDC is NOT a shelter and has no paid employees. We are all volunteers with jobs, families, pets, Shiloh Shepherds and a deep love of dogs.

We may have Shiloh Shepherds listed on our site available for adoption from rescue situations, so please do check back regularly or sign up for our notification emails. If you have questions, we are here to help! Just email us and we will do our best to respond in 24 hours.

We look forward to helping you find your next best friend!

Interested in Adopting?

If interested in adopting a Shiloh Shepherd, please answer ALL the questions in the Adoption Application to help us work with you to find the perfect dog for you. All information is confidential.

Adoption Application

The first step in our adoption process is the completion of the adoption application form. A complete response will be the fastest way. We will return the forms if incomplete for further attention. It is our goal to place each dog in an environment appropriate for that dog’s background, personality, temperament and needs. Therefore, no one is top of the list for the next dog. And it is impossible to predict how long it will take for each applicant to receive a dog. We will contact you and begin the approval process once we determine that a Shiloh in our program would be potentially good match with you. The approval process involves a combination of phone interview, home visit if possible, and reference checks.

Donation Contributions

We ask for an adoption donation to help us cover the costs. Our suggested adoption donation is enough to cover the rescue’s investment in that particular dog. Generally, the adoption contributions average $250. Anything above and beyond this actual costs will help us to continue our mission of rescue and rehoming Shiloh Shepherds. Most of these Shiloh Shepherds have been vetted, which includes vaccinations, any medications needed and they are spayed/neutered. Typically our expenses far exceed the adoption donations but your generous support helps us defray the overall costs!

Adoption Contract

Every person who is selected to adopt a Shiloh Shepherd from the ISSDC will be required to sign our Adoption Contract. Please review this contract thoroughly.

Thank You!
